If you’d like to create a terrace but aren’t sure about its size or shape, there’s no better way to get started than with a simulation.
Start by choosing the covering: wood or composite decking, tiled decking, travertine decking…the choice is varied and so is the budget.
Our advice: in the south, beware of dark tiles, which are fashionable but store heat and become very hot in summer, posing a danger to children’s feet! The same problem applies to composite tiles (vs. wood, which stays cool). Choose the materials most in keeping with the rest of your home (tiles or wood for a contemporary home, stone or wood for a more traditional house).
Then, to make the future terrace you’re going to create more user-friendly, don’t forget to include a sun protection system: awning, pergola, trellis… under which it will be pleasant to take shelter during the hottest hours.
Finally, plant fragrant flowers and plants along the edge of the terrace to give it a lovely scent.
