The pool is finished and in the water, but now the question arises: how do you arrange the pool?landscaping around the pool

Our advice:

To start with, allow at least 70cm around the pool for walking, playing, diving and maintenance :(. Choose materials that are already present on your terrace or in harmony with them. Watch out for slippery surfaces when wet, gravel that stings bare feet and ends up in the water, and dark surfaces that burn the arches of your feet in the South.

Flat terrain permitting, you’ll need to set aside a few deckchairs where you can relax (9m² is not bad for 2).

Plan to isolate yourself from neighbours: hedges, fences….

Then embellish with vegetation and, if you like, a soft lawn that allows you to walk around without getting your feet dirty.

To choose the right plants around your pool, you need to take into account the prevailing winds, especially during the summer months, so as not to collect wilted flowers and other leaves in the pool. Similarly, deciduous plants are best planted downwind, to avoid dirtying the water in autumn.

To make the right choice, it’s best to run a simulation on our landscaping site. What’s more, by indicating the municipality of your project, our system will automatically determine the plants best suited to your environmental constraints.

Now it’s up to you to create the pool tower layout that’s right for you:

How to light your pool?

If you’re planning a pool design, it’s important to think about lighting. This will allow you to enjoy the sun even when it’s dark and the outside temperature is still warm. Let’s take a look at your options. You can choose just one, or combine them.

  • In-pool lighting: This is the solution most often used. All you have to do is install lighting on the steps to make sure you don’t miss them, or on the inside walls.
  • Lighting around the pool: This time, it’s all about highlighting the landscaping you’ve done around your pool, or the terrace where you’ve installed the sunbeds. You can choose recessed spotlights or bollard lights.
  • Lighting the pool house: You can use hanging lights, floor lamps, spotlights fixed high up, or even a string of lights to create a relaxing atmosphere.

Of course, whatever your choice, it’s imperative that they meet current standards, i.e. an IP68 rating to be waterproof, or even submersible, if you put them in your pond.
